Dolly's ideal home

Dolly is a tender-hearted girl who is on the search for a quiet home. She is looking for an adult only home where she can be provided with a safe space. Dolly would like to be the only dog in the home for now. She has lived with other dogs before but is very worried here and needs more socials before she's ready to make new doggy friends. Dolly has lived with cats before and could do so again, as long as her new family are able to introduce them slowly, potentially keeping them separate at first. Due to her worried nature, Dolly will need a secure garden of her own.

Dolly is a sweet but shy, 4yr old Shepherd cross Spaniel who is very worried by life and will need a lot of time and patience. She will need a safe space to retreat to especially whilst adjusting to life in a home again. Dolly has shown destructive behaviours when left alone so will need her leaving time built up gradually. Dolly hasn't been a fan of car travel in her history but did jump onto the back seats and explore, so will benefit from continued confidence building in this area. She’s got a good history of being housetrained too, so with access to her own secure garden should pick it back up again very quickly.

Springer Spaniel Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Springer Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Springer Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images
