About This Dog for Adoption

Harriet's ideal home

Harriet is a a calm girl who is going to make a wonderful companion. While we don't know if she has ever been around children before she'll be fine to live with children of around secondary school age Harriet can also live with other dogs. Any match would need a successful meet in centre before adoption. She will need her own garden because she can be quite worried, especially around traffic, and will appreciate safe outdoor space while she gains confidence.

Could you be Harriet's perfect match?

Harriet is a gentle girl who came into our care after being found as a stray. She’s 3 years old and has shown us that she loves playtime and snuggles. Harriet can be a little worried in new environments but is gaining confidence every day. Hot dogs are her favourite and this (along with other tasty snacks) will help with her training. Most aspects of home life are a bit of an unknown. However she really tries to keep her kennel clean, so housetraining shouldn’t take too long. We think she’ll be happy being left for a couple of hours too. While travel is an unknown Harriet will jump into the car so once she has more confidence there is potential for her to join her family out and about.

Springer Spaniel Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Springer Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Springer Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
