About This Dog for Adoption

Leo's ideal home

Meet our little Leo, he is an 8.5 year old Springer Spaniel looking for his forever home. He can live with another dog in the home, pending a successful meet at the centre. Leo can also live with older secondary school aged children as he can be worried meeting people for the first time. Leo has previously been left alone for a couple of hours during the day and could be again in his new home. Leo has also been house trained previously, so may just need a quick reminder in his new home.

Could you be Leo's perfect match?

Leo is a very sweet little man with so much love to give. When meeting new people, as mentioned, he can be a little worried, but we have found that if you try not to approach him and let him come to you in his own time, he comes around a lot quicker. Being a typical spaniel, he does need to work on his loose lead walking, but he only pulls as he wants to get to the good sniffs quicker! As with any dog in our care, it is vitally important that any training is done using positive reinforcement. Leo will make a wonderful addition to his new home! Leo came into our care with a docked tail. Tail docking is illegal in the UK, except for essential medical reasons or for certain breeds of working dogs. We are against unnecessary tail docking and do not condone it.

Dogs Trust Adoption Process

Thinking of adopting through Dogs Trust? Here's what to expect before you start your application.

  • Register your interest in adoption on the Dogs Trust website - you can't apply for specific dogs directly.
  • Create an account to favourite dogs you're interested in and help the team understand your preferences.
  • Dogs Trust will match you with dogs that fit your lifestyle and home environment.
  • Some dogs listed here may already be rehomed or reserved, as updates can take time to sync.
  • If matched, you'll go through their adoption and home-check process before taking your new dog home.
